2009-2010 staff
Principles:

Charles Devlin joined Avanti in 1991 after
receiving his Business Management BS degree from the
University of South Florida, Tampa. (Go Bulls!) Charles is now
President of Avanti after having served as Central Florida Sales Rep and
then Sales Manager. |

Tim Devlin attended South Florida Community
College and Polk Community College. He has been with us since 1986 and
is our Vice-President of Operations, overseeing all of our services and
support functions. Tim and his brother Charles are co-owners of the
company. |
Office & Tech Services Staff:
John Caputo: inside sales/customer service.
John is on the front line fielding technical questions, providing
quotes, order entry, order status, etc.. John was an experienced
technical writer before joining Avanti and is FAA certified for
inspecting jet turbines and non-destructive testing. He is also
currently completing his degree in business management. |
Elizabeth Mann our bookkeeper,
responsibilities include accounts receivable/payable, inventory control,
and reporting for the company. Liz has attended Polk Community
College and Wesleyan College and is currently working on her B.A. in
Business Administration from Florida Metropolitan University. |
Mark Conner: Technical Services, involved with a variety of support functions and is
primarily is our lead technician in conducting on-site flow
meter testing. Mark came to us with over fifteen years experience as a certified
marine mechanic, and now is an important member of our technical services team. |
Shannan Crosson: Technical Services, involved
with a variety of support functions including on-site flow meter testing
and is our "ace" in both installing and supporting the Bullhorn and
Adcon telemetry systems. Shannan spent over
five years serving our country in the U.S. Army and National Guard
followed by another five years as a corrections officer. |
Mildred Fuentes: "Millie" is most often our
friendly voice on the phone and provides a variety of support functions
as our Sales & Marketing Administrative Assistant including coordination
of our in-house training. She has extensive experience in
bookkeeping and as an administrative assistant. Millie is
bilingual (English/Spanish) and graduated from Commercial College of
Cayey in Puerto Rico. |
Richard Prince: has many years experience in gas distribution and measurement and an
Associates Degree in Electronics from Tampa Tech. Richard provides hands-on
technical support for our gas meters, valves, regulators, instruments, and NJEX odorization
systems. He also serves as one of our factory certified technicians in our
on-site water meter testing program, and as many know is our
resident BBQ chef! |
Aaron Scallion: Technical services, handles
most shipping/receiving functions. He assists with in-house and
field service work. Aaron served our country in the U.S.
Army from 2001-2004 and is currently attending South Florida Community
College. |
Mark Whalen: is our Operations Manager with
responsibility for our technical support, shipping, warehouse, and field
services.
Mark came to Avanti with 13 years of experience from a major meter manufacturer. He holds an associates
degree in the computer electronics field. Mark is also our house
expert on most of our electronic products. |
Jarrod Wellborn: is the newest member of our
Technical Services Team. He has over 5 years experience as a gas
distribution technician and is currently training with Richard to
provide support to gas and water utilities in the Northern part of the
state in the areas of gas measurement, regulators, odorization, valve
and gate station maintenance and water meter testing. |
Outside Sales Staff:
John Paul Heston: is new to the Avanti
outside sales team having recently held tech services and inside sales
positions. John Paul's territory is East Central Florida. He
has a Bachelor's degree from Barry University in Public Administration.
John Paul is Charles's and Tim's nephew, a third generation "Meter Man",
and is eager to learn the family business. |
John Corey: has spent nearly thirty years in
the metering business with primary concentration on flow meters for
utility and industrial applications. John joined Avanti from
ABB where he worked in the United States, UK, and Africa, solving
customers' metering challenges in over 100 countries throughout the
world. John has a B.A. from Hiram College and MBA from the
University of Miami, FL. John lives in Miami, FL and is our sales
manager with responsibility for our outside and inside sales staff as
well as marketing. |
Steve Baltzley: North Florida Sales
Representative; Steve has extensive experience in the utility industry,
both gas and water. He was with Avanti from 1998-2006 and now has
returned following a two year role as a gas department director with a
North Florida utility. Steve resides in Lake City and his
territory spans from St. Johns County to Jacksonville and through the
Panhandle to Pensacola. |
Eric Corey: is our South Florida
Sales Representative. Eric is the son of John Corey and is also a
third generation "Meter Man". He attended Hiram College and has
experience in the restaurant and property management businesses.
Eric's territory encompasses Southeast Florida along with Collier County
in the Southwest. |
Jim Patton: joined Avanti in September 2005 to
manage our West Central Florida Sales Territory. Jim resides in
Osprey, Florida and comes to Avanti with 33 years experience with a
major meter manufacturer. Jim's fluid measurement knowledge is
principally in the utility and commercial/industrial sectors having
traveled the entire U.S. and Puerto Rico. He attended Missouri
Southern and Southwest Missouri State. Jim is looking forward to
working for Avanti and approaching his new territory via the rep
channel. |
